Anniversary of PKU Set Up

Peking University, Beijing, Mar. 30th, 2007: Preparatory Committee for the 110th
anniversary of PKU in 2008 has been officially established recently.
Prof. Min Weifang and Xu Zhihong are appointed chairman of the preparatory
committee. Wu Zhipan, Lin Jianhua, and Ke Yang are appointed vice-chairman.
Other members include Yue Sulan, Lin Junjing, Zhang Yan, Wang Limei, Yang He,
Ju Chuanjin, Zhang Guoyou, Hai Wen and Ao Yingfang.
The committee consists of eight departments, whose functions are as follows:
1. The Comprehensive Department is in charge of the overall coordination and
celebration design.
2. The Publicity Department is mainly responsible for the news release, memorial
publishing, and school history popularization.
3. The tasks for the Development and Liaison Department are chiefly to contact the
leaders, alumni and people from all sections of society and to collect funds as well.
4. The Image Building Department assumes various responsibilities like building up
the visual imagery of PKU, designing the anniversary sign, the campus landscape,
souvenir, gift and picture album, and making of CD and website.
5. The Campus Culture Department is to mastermind all the celebrations of the
faculty and students, especially the organization of the large-scale performance with
the idea of bringing campus culture aura.
6. The International Communication Department deals mainly with overseas
exchanges, coordination, visits, and forums.
7. The Academic Activity Department is supposed to be responsible for large
academic projects and forums.
8. The Security and Safeguard Department will contribute to the logistic support and
the campus environmental improvement.
