Peking University, Beijing, April 21st, 2005: There is the ozone inanition above the
sky, the descend of water quality, large quantity of rubbish, the sharp reduction in the
diversity of living species down on land and the air pollution between. If the
development and the environmental protection are the two weights hung on the two
sides of the Earth, Our Earth is now experiencing a rapid development of economy
and a slow creeping of environmental protection. Who can maintain the unbalanced
―Push forward the heavy load by a slight effort: the green lever effect‖—this is the
―Friend of the Earth‖, one of the most influential organizations sponsored by local
people in Hong Kong sticks to the principle of speaking to the people ―truly‖, to the
government ―honestly‖, to the disadvantaged ―justly‖ and to the next generation
―conscientiously‖. ―Friend of the Earth‖ beats her heart with the sky and land, flows
her blood with mountains and rivers, and she believes the all the Chinese people
have the same root and walks hand in hand together. The organization seeks all
