Peking University, Beijing, Nov, 24th, 2006: At 2:30 in the afternoon, there are no
empty seats in Qiulin Hall of PKU. The Vice-Dean of School of International Studies,
Professor Yuan Ming was invited to present a lecture about ‗Field Survey of
American Medium-term Election‘. Diplomats from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and
Ministry of Domestic Affairs, scholars from Chinese Academy of Society, Peking
Foreign Language University and so on attended. The course of lecture was
presided over by Li Hanmei, the Undersecretary of the Party Committee of School of
International Studies.
Prof. Yuan shared her knowledge about America during the past 30 years and her
one-month close touch with the American Medium-term Election this year with the
audience. She analyzed the election from three aspects, which are the general
situation, the characteristics and her own thoughts. She also brought some problems
to discuss with the audience. The course of lecture lasted for one and a half hours,
and then Prof. Zhang Xiaoming and Wang Yong made some comments on the
lecture. After that, the students asked their interested questions and had a
discussion with Prof. Yuan.
To help students extend their field of vision, the School of International Studies of
PKU will bring more lectures to the students.
