Peking University, Beijing, Nov. 12th, 2006: The opening ceremony of the 2006
student training school sponsored by PKU Student Extracurricular Activities
Guidance Center was held in Leo Ko Guan Building on 12th,Nov. Zhang Yan,
vice-secretary of the CPC Committee of PKU, Shen Qianfan, secretary of the PKU
committee of the Communist Youth League of China, Lu Xiaodong, undersecretary
of the Educational Administration, and Zha Jing, undersecretary of the Students‘
Work Office as well as a few other members of the PKU committee of CYLC
attended the ceremony. The event was presided over by Zhang Xiaomeng,
vice-secretary of the PKU committee of CYLC.
Others attending the ceremony include students and teachers from the PKU
theoretical research center for students‘ development, the PKU CYLC publicity
training school, the Olympic volunteer‘s training school, the science and technology
student‘s training school and the community arts and physical culture training center.
Shen Qianfan, secretary of the PKU CYLC committee, delivered a working report on
the stage. Apart from emphasizing the basic ideas and purposes of the various
student training schools, he also expressed in his report a high expectation of the
training programme and presented an overall arrangement of training work for the
year 2006. According to Mr. Zhang, PKU is now in a key period of constructing a top
university of the world, it is very important to implement all these students training
plans, gradually establish an all-around training mechanism facing all the students
and covering more fields, so that more students can benefit from it.
Mr. Zhang also made an important speech on the event, he first of all expressed his
congratulation to the opening of the training school on behalf of the CPC committee
of PKU and the University Administration. Then he gave a brief review of the
achievements made by these student training schools, hoping that the schools will
stick to the spirit of PKU in their future operation.
Student representatives from training schools introduced on the ceremony the
schools‘ teaching concepts, trainees, organizers as well as training activities.
