China's First Forum on Women and<br />

Sport Culture held at <strong>PKU</strong><br />

<strong>Peking</strong> <strong>University</strong>, Beijing, Nov. 25th, 2005 On 10 am, Nov 25th, the opening<br />

ceremony <strong>of</strong> China's first forum on women and sport culture was held in the Yingjie<br />

Communication Center. <strong>PKU</strong> Executive Vice President, Vice Secretary <strong>of</strong> CPC <strong>PKU</strong><br />

Committee Wu Zhipan, Vice President <strong>of</strong> the Standing Committee <strong>of</strong> National<br />

People's Congress, and Pr<strong>of</strong>. Han Qide <strong>of</strong> <strong>PKU</strong>'s culture and sports research base<br />

were all present. This forum was held by the Chinese Woman Studies Association,<br />

<strong>Peking</strong> <strong>University</strong> and Beijing Sports <strong>University</strong>. Experts and scholars from China,<br />

the UK, Canada, Korea, Philippines, Hong Kong, Taiwan attended the ceremony.<br />

This forum would last for four days. Its content includes main meeting Hall reports,<br />

branch meeting hall reports, posters and topic salons. During the forum,<br />

performances <strong>of</strong> literature and sports would also be showed. The thesis collection <strong>of</strong><br />

First Global Forum <strong>of</strong> Women and Sport Culture would be published in the<br />

transaction <strong>of</strong> Beijing <strong>Peking</strong> Sports <strong>University</strong>. The forum not only opened a window<br />

for national scholars to communicate face-to-face with foreign experts, getting the<br />

most cutting-edge development <strong>of</strong> sports culture, but also granted a chance for<br />

showing our achievements on its research. It will definitely stimulate the further<br />

development <strong>of</strong> China's women and sports industry..<br />
