3rd Round of PKU Common School

The opening ceremony of the 3rd round of Common School of Peking University
(PKU) was held in the North Conference Room of Main Library on Sept. 13th. A
batch of 100 staff working at PKU will receive education and training in their free
time.
Yue Sulan, president of PKU Common School and Ding Xiaohao, Dean of Studies of
PKU Common School attended the ceremony which was emceed by Sun Li, Dean of
General Affairs of PKU Common School. The officials from related sectors and units,
teachers from Graduate School of Education and the student volunteers were
present as well.
Following the tradition, the third round of training will further enlarge the team of
teachers and volunteers and enhance the computer education to create a favorable
environment for the staff‘s life and study.
As the president of PKU Common School, Yue Sulan appreciated the excellent work
people from the sectors of logistics and public security have done in the periods of
the 110th Anniversary of PKU, the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games and Paralympic
Games. She said that PKU Common School has received wide praise from all
sectors of society and accumulated rich experience after two years‘ search and
practice. She also pointed out that the people from the sectors of logistics and public
security have made great contributions to the development of PKU, so the PKU
Common School would as well provide them a stage to make their dreams true. Prof.
Ding Xiaohao pointed out in her speech that the aim of PKU Common School was to
advocate humanity spirit and develop science spirit through the academic and web
resources.
Then, the representatives of the staff expressed their thanks to PKU Common
School for giving them chances to make their ―PKU dreams‖ coming true. Now they
have practiced the concept of ―knowledge changes fate‖. In the end, the
representatives of teachers and volunteers gave excellent speeches to recall the
