International Investment & Management Association (IIMA), a comparatively young
society at Peking University, has attracted a lot of attention since its establishment in
Oct. 2003.
―Our students are so farsighted as to establish such an association, which is adapted
to the trend of the world...On behalf of Peking University, I strongly support IIMA…‖
Vice President of PKU, Prof. Wu Zhipan encouraged.
Honor President of IIMA, Mr. Wang Lianzhou, who used to be Director of Finance
and Economics Policy Office of the National People‘s Congress, regarded the
association as an outstanding organization of superior start and large potential.
Vice President of Guanghua School of Management, Prof. Zhu Shanli expected IIMA
to ―shoulder an academic task‖. International investment in China ranks top in the
world, but few domestic academic research is conducted in this field. ―The
establishment of IIMA will contribute to the theoretic study in the circle, I believe.‖
Compared with other societies on campus, IIMA makes more effort to absorb
distinguished scholars and entrepreneurs, and to approach the academic level as
well as to build up a communication platform. The initiators and leaders of IIMA are
mainly from Guanghua School of Management at PKU, with profound theoretical
basis and practical working experience. Now IIMA has over 400 members and nearly
1/3 of its key members are international students, which contributes to the
cosmopolitan corporation.
Its program includes weekly ―Elite Dialogue‖, between two special guests, usually
leaders in business or finance community, on a heated-discussed topic; a quarterly
senior forum, focused on the national economic performance and existing problems;
regular parties to better mutual understanding among its members.
