Autorka svoju pozornosťzameriava na príčiny sociálneho napätia a paradox doby, ktorá na strane jednej deklaruje rovnosť, snaží sa o globalizáciu a integráciu,na strane druhej však v nej narastá intolerancia voči inakosti a zvyšuje sa sociálne napätie súvisiace s nevídanou migráciouobyvateľstva a intenzívnou interkultúrnou komunikáciou. Čiastočnú elimináciu týchto problémov vidí v príprave obyvateľstvana stret s inakosťou vo všetkých jej podobách prostredníctvom multikultúrnej výchovy a občianskeho vzdelávania. The author focuses his attention onthe causes of social tension and paradox of time, which on the one hand, declares equality, seeks to globalization and integration,on the other hand, however, there is growing intolerance towards otherness and increasing social tensions related to anunprecedented migration of population and intensive intercultural communication. The author sees a partial elimination of theseproblems in the preparation of the population to encounter otherness in all its forms through multicultural education and civiceducation. The result of such education should be socially and culturally tolerant society in which the notion “otherness” gets ridof negative connotations, and instead of stress get settled mutual respect and esteem.453
