Táto filozofia bazíruje na princípe bojkotovania nadnárodných spoločností, ekonomickéhosystému, materializmu a konzumu. Daný svetonázor je demonštrovaný aj extrémnymi stratégiami ako dumpster diving.Článok analyzuje významy jednotlivých stratégií freeganizmu a tento fenomén chápe v širších súvislostiach: Predpokladá, žetúžba freeganov po tradičných hodnotách, akými sú domov, rodina a komunita, je symptómom zlyhaní a nezrovnalostí vo vývojimoderného sociálneho života. Táto myšlienka čerpá z koncepcie „off-moderného“ ruskej teoretičky Svetlany Boymovej.Kľúčové slová: freeganizmus, alternatívny životný štýl, konzum, off-moderné.AbstractFreeganism refers to an alternative modus vivendi based only on minimal participation in the system of conventionaleconomy and the least possible consumption of resources. This philosophy accentuates the principle of boycotting multinationalcorporations, the economic system, materialism and consumerism. This world-view is also demonstrated through extremestrategies, such as “dumpster diving”. This article analyses the meanings of individual strategies of freeganism and perceives thisphenomenon in a wider context: it assumes that the desire of freegans for traditional values, such as home, family and community,is a symptom of failures and discrepancies in the development of the modern social life. This idea draws on the conceptof “off-modern” of the Russian theoretician Svetlana Boym.Keywords: freeganism, alternative life style, consumerism, off-modern.479
