he is known as the most enthusiastic and active organizer of the cultural<br />

life. Among others he is also the founder of Macedo-romanian Cultural<br />

Society which is the strong organization and where romanians from the<br />

north and south part of Danube joined hands for national regeneration.<br />

on April 2 nd , 1880 the society was recognized as a juridical person, by<br />

Corpurile legiutoare which the majority has adopted. 12 Its aim was to get<br />

the right of cultural and religious self sufficiency for the aromanians from<br />

Balkan peninsula.<br />

the Macedo-romanian chose him the president of the Society because<br />

they recognized his force and power of persuasion and gave him his dues.<br />

he succeeded in calling up romanian and Aromanian juridical and<br />

natural people from their native places for the material and spiritual<br />

protection of the Macedonia’s brothers.<br />

there were a lot of famous people who belonged to this society,<br />

dignitaries of our churches, teachers who will assure the success through<br />

papers and researchers, political man who will bravely lead this movement.<br />

Among the 35 famous names of the first council there are: I.p.p.S<br />

metropolitan Calinic Miclescu, p.p.S. Iosif, the bishop of the down Danube,<br />

prince Dimitrie Ghica, senator, general Christian tell, Al. odobescu, prof.<br />

univ. ioan caragiani, prof. univ. Alexandru davilla, N. creţulescu, Titu<br />

Maiorescu, iacob Negruţi, V. Alecsandri, constantin Belimace, Ştefan<br />

Mihăilescu.<br />

It was written a lot about it because it was the history of Aromanians<br />

and their presence in romania. V.A. urechia was the leader of this society.<br />

It happened after the Independence War when the romanians appeared in<br />

Balkan owing to the material and moral help that society gave them. there<br />

were founded a lot of schools especially during the years 1880–1881. the<br />

Aromanians go to the churches from Macedonia which are inaugurated.<br />

V.A. urechia sent books for schools and religious books, too. In 1895 the<br />

Cultural Macedo-romanian Society offered to his excellency a honour<br />

Diploma. 13<br />

V.A. urechia’s personality will be memorable through the publication<br />

of the Macedo-Romanian Album, realized on behalf of the Society and<br />

edited in 1880. 14 nowadays after 130 years from the publication we associate<br />
