Constitutio Antoniniana. It is highly probable, as will be noted with some<br />

other examples below, that Αὐρ(ήλιος) Σώστρατος Δοληους belonged to<br />

the wealthy level of the society in philippopolis consisting of thracians<br />

and Greeks who received roman citizenship and names after constitutio<br />

As we may note Τιβ(έριος) Κλαύδιος Πασίνους Μουκιανοῦ belongs<br />

to the group with the earliest imperial romanization of non-royal<br />

thracians which included only a part of the thracian aristocracy. Since<br />

the inscription informing us of this person was set up in the second or third<br />

century, he may be a descendent of a veteran, but also a descendent of an<br />

eastern provincial: he may also have belonged to the thracian aristocracy<br />

romanized during the reign of claudius. The cognomen Πασίνους is found<br />

in Greece, especially the islands, 89 but also in Syria. the name of his father<br />
