After only a few days, on 14 th /24 th of September 1700, Antioh<br />

Cantemir was replaced by Constantin Duca, who was followed on the chair<br />

by Mihai racoviţă (1703–1705), constantin cantemir’s son-in-law. during<br />

this time, in transylvannia, at ocna Sibiului in 1703 the book written by<br />

Dimitrie Cantemir, Divan or the Quarrel of the Wise Man with the World<br />

(iaşi, 1698) was copied for the first time; we know about 17 copies in<br />

manuscript spread on the entire romanian territory 36 .<br />

In “1705 February 13 rd , there was the end of the reign of the great<br />

lover of God and loving and kind Prince ioan Mihail racoviţă voivode,<br />

prince and owner of all Moldavia and Wallachia. his coming back should<br />

be done, our lord Christ, by the prayers of our patriarch priest hrisostom<br />

the patriarch, as soon as possible and in an enchanting way”. the scrap<br />

was done on volume III of the Works of John Chrysostom (eton, 1612),<br />

who belonged to the Three hierarchs Monastery in iaşi, the prospective<br />

wrongdoer was cursed by Prince Michael racoviţă. on the 4 th of March<br />

1705, church singer parthenie from the putna monastery wrote on Leastviţă,<br />

manuscript (1472), from putna monastery “to be known «...» ever since the<br />

prince changed of Mihail voivode” 37 racoviţă with Antioh cantemir.<br />

During this reign, on 7 th of February 1706 Antiochie Jora high<br />

chancellor gave an odion to a monastery called Măgarul. Another famous<br />

historical character at the time, the great official savin, called smucilă,<br />

the founder of Banu church from Iasi, appears in the notes from 1706 as<br />

he endowed his creation: on the 1 st of March 1706, a Tipic, manuscript<br />

(1641), which “savin, high official, gave it to my church in ieşi”. răzmiriţi<br />

Brah captain of the guards buys an Apostol (Buzău, 1704), and he gives it<br />

to the monastery Nicoriţă in iasi, where his parents were buried. dania is<br />

reinforced with awful curses. on the 2 nd of April 1706, Savin high official<br />

buys and donates his church and a Gospel sl. (lwow, 1691). on the 7 th of<br />

june 1706, intendent Pătraşco costin noted his ownership on The Polish<br />

Chronicle, after Ştefan Pădure had tied the covers. on the 17 th of August<br />

1706, Ghiorghii Abăza monks from the holy Metropolitan church bought a<br />

Testament (Bucharest, 1703) with 4 coins. on the 30 th of november 1706,<br />

in the village of Vama, county of Suceava, the priest made an inventory of<br />

all the books and precious objects from that church, writing on a Sbornic,<br />

13 books. It was also around that time when priest niculae gives an<br />
