4vedhika (adj. f. scil. pann!) [! + vedhaka of !vedha, vyadh, but confused with !ve&h˚ of ! + ve+&, cp.<br />

!ve&hana & nibbedhaka] piercing, penetrating; or ravelling, turning, rolling up or round (cp. !vijjhati which<br />

is derived from ! + vyadh, but takes its meaning from !ve&heti), discrimination, thinking over J ii.9 (+<br />

nibbedhik!, v. l. for both &h).<br />

protuberance, with reference to the rays of the Buddha at J i.12, 95, 501. 2. (f.) a garland or other<br />
