The aim of Tourism Analysis:An Interdisciplinary<br />

Journal is to promote a forum for practitioners<br />

and academicians in the fields of leisure,<br />

recreation, tourism and hospitality. The journal<br />

encourages researchers to examine tourism issues<br />

from a functioning systems approach. Its scope<br />

includes behavioural models �quantitative±<br />

qualitative), decision-making techniques and procedures,<br />

estimation models, demand±supply analysis,<br />

monitoring systems, assessment of site and<br />

destination attractiveness, new analytical tools<br />

and research methods related to these and other<br />

themes. As an interdisciplinary refereed �double<br />

blind) journal, it aims to appeal to scholars,<br />

professionals and students in this field. First<br />

appearing in 1996, it is published quarterly by<br />

Cognizant Communication Corporation �ISSN<br />

Tourism Economics covers the business aspects of<br />

tourism in the wider context. It takes account of<br />

constraints on development, such as social and<br />

community interests and the sustainable use of<br />

tourism and recreation resources, and inputs<br />

into the production process. Articles deal with hotel<br />

and restaurants businesses, merchandising,<br />

attractions, transport, entertainment and tourist<br />

activities, as well as economic organisation of<br />

tourism at micro and macro levels. In addition to<br />

full-length articles, the journal accommodates<br />

shorter contributions such as research notes. Article<br />

submissions are subject to a double blind review.<br />

There will be a minimum of two referees for each<br />

paper. First published in 1995, it is published<br />

quarterly by In Print Publishing �ISSN 1334±<br />

8166).<br />

original research, analysis of current trends<br />

and information on the planning and management<br />

of all aspects of tourism. This refereed<br />

journal �double blind) favours a multisectoral<br />

approach and multidisciplinary treatments, including<br />

geography, economics, transportation,<br />

hotels and restaurant management, sociology,<br />

marketing and development studies. Tourism<br />

Management aims to publish articles of interest to<br />

members of both the tourism industry and the<br />

academic community. Manuscripts submitted to<br />

this journal cannot be simultaneously submitted or<br />

published elsewhere, but translated studies, which<br />

have not been published in English, are considered.<br />

First appearing in 1980, it is published six times per<br />

year by Elsevier �ISSN 0261±5177).<br />

Tourism organisations are established to foster and<br />

manage the growth and development of tourism<br />

through the pursuit of common goals by joint action.<br />

The term is generally used to refer to destinationbased<br />

organisations consisting of the official administrative<br />

bodies responsible for tourism, those which<br />

bring together two or more members with interest in<br />

tourism or some public±private sector partnership.<br />

These organisations may have different goals,<br />

functions and structures and operate at a range of<br />

scales, from the local and regional through to the<br />

national �known as national tourism administration<br />

or NTA) and international �such as Pacific<br />

Asia Travel Association and World Tourism<br />

Organization).<br />
