Sometimes the situation represented as a logical consequence occurred in absolute time prior to the first situation (# 10). 33.2.2 Epexegesis a Sometimes the situation represented by ּ◌ ו ַ does not succeed the prior one either in time or as a logical consequence; rather it explains the former situation (cf. 33.2.3e). In a sense, this epexegetical use of wayyqtl is the opposite of the summarizing use. Whereas relative wqtl may signify customary event(s) within the situation (32.2.1d), relative wayyqtl represents specific, concrete events (## 34).
