A intensidade de raios ultravioleta chegou ao nível extremo e concomitantemente a
incidência de câncer de pele aumentou, principalmente no Brasil, nos últimos anos. A
mulher brasileira preza pelo seu bronzeado, o que muitas vezes pode provocar danos à
sua saúde. Os autobronzeadores são formulações que permitem o bronzeado sem expor
a pele à radiação ultravioleta, pois originam pigmentos marrons quando em contato com
a pele. Nesse contexto o presente trabalho teve como objetivo realizar a comparação
entre produtos autobronzeadores verificando se os princípios ativos possuem comprovação
científica e a partir disso, verificar se o apelo do fabricante é condizente com a constituição
do produto. Foram listados os ativos presentes nas formulações e em literatura
apropriada buscou-se informação a respeito da funcionalidade de cada um dos ativos. A
melhor escolha é a formulação A em virtude da presença dos ativos – (dihidroxiacetona
(DHA) e eritrulose – que permitem a formação de melanoidinas.

ABSTRACT
The incidence of ultraviolet radiation reaches high levels and the skin cancer incidence
increased recently in Brazil. Brazilian women focus on their tanning and sometimes
this attitude can affect their health. Sun tan lotions are products that allow the tanning
process without skin exposure to the ultraviolet radiation, because they originate brown
pigments when in touch with the skin. In this context, this article aimed to compare
two products verifying whether its active compounds have scientific relevance and from
this comparison conclude if its action assent with the actives in the product. The active
compounds were listed in the formulations and the information about each component
was searched in scientific literature. The best sun tan solution is formulation A due to the
presence of DHA and erythrulose - responsible by the melanoidins formation.
