those of Chaplain, Marshal, and Organist. The first seven are elected by majority
ballot, whereas the others are appointed by the Worthy Matron (cf. p. 5). The
lodge room is called Chapter room. The altar stands in the center of the Chapter
room upon a five-pointed star with the five colors of the Order, white pointing
towards the west. On the altar lies the open Bible. The use of the gavel
corresponds to the practice in the Order of the Amaranth and seems to be a
general one, also employed by non-Masonic orders, that is one blow calls the
Chapter to order or seats it, or completes its closing, two blows call up the
officers, and three call up the Chapter.
