Listing Users<br />

Chapter 14-Users, Connections and Notes<br />

• If an application-user identifies itself with a correct FQDN and an incorrect password, its<br />

account will be locked and the event written to the Auditor Event File.<br />

• An application-user cannot be the last administrator in the system. The last administrator<br />

must be regular user.<br />

• User names are not case sensitive.<br />

Monitoring<br />

• An application-user and its connection is represented by a specific icon.<br />

Active Directory<br />

• When working with Active Directory, CMA and DMA cannot be registered within<br />

Active Directory as regular users. CMA and DMA application-users must be manually.<br />

• The only restriction is that TLS mode is enabled together with client certificate<br />

validation.<br />

• if the above configuration are set off it will not be possible to add machine accounts.<br />

• When setting the TLS mode off the system should check the existence of a machine<br />

account and block this operation until all machine accounts are removed.<br />

The Users pane lists the currently defined users in the system and their authorization levels.<br />

The pane also enables the administrators to add and delete users.<br />

The <strong>RMX</strong> is shipped with a default Administrator user called POLYCOM, whose password<br />

is POLYCOM. However, once you have defined other authorized Administrator users, it is<br />

recommended to remove the default user.<br />

You can view the list of users that are currently defined in the system.<br />

To view the users currently defined in the system:<br />

1 In the <strong>RMX</strong> Management pane, click the Users ( ) button.<br />

The Users pane is displayed.<br />

The list includes three columns: User Name, Authorization Level and Disabled.<br />

The User Name is the login name used by the user to connect to the <strong>RMX</strong>.<br />

The Authorization indicates the Authorization Level assigned to the User: Administrator,<br />

Operator, Chairperson or Auditor.<br />

Disabled indicates whether the user is disabled and cannot access the system unless<br />

enabled by the administrator. For more details, see "Disabling a User” on page 14-5.<br />

Locked indicates whether the user has been locked out and cannot access the system<br />

unless enabled by the administrator.<br />

In Ultra Secure Mode (ULTRA_SECURE_MODE=YES), Users can be automatically<br />

disabled or locked out by the system when they do not log into the <strong>RMX</strong> application for<br />

<strong>Polycom</strong>, Inc. 14-3
