10 Define the following parameters:<br />

Field Description<br />

SNMP Trap <strong>Version</strong> Specifies the version, either <strong>Version</strong>1 2 or 3 of the traps being sent to<br />

the IP Host. <strong>Polycom</strong> software supports the standard SNMP version 1<br />

and 2 traps, which are taken from RFC 1215, convention for defining<br />

traps for use with SNMP.<br />

Note: The SNMP Trap <strong>Version</strong> parameters must be defined<br />

identically in the external SNMP application.<br />

Trap Destination This box lists the currently defined IP addresses of the Manager<br />

terminals to which the message (trap) is sent.<br />

IP Enter the IP address of the SNMP<br />

trap recipient.<br />

11 Click the Add button to add a new Manager terminal.<br />

The New Trap Destination dialog box opens.<br />

Enter the Community Name of the<br />

manager terminal used to monitor<br />

the MCU activity<br />

User Name Enter the name of the user that is to<br />

12 Type the IP Address and the Community name of the manager terminal used to<br />

monitor the MCU activity, and then click OK.<br />

The Community name is a string of characters that will be added to the message that is<br />

sent to the external Manager terminals. This string is used to identify the message<br />

source by the external Manager terminal.<br />

The new IP Address and Community name is added to the Trap Destinations box.<br />

a To delete the IP Address of a Manager terminal, select the address that you wish to<br />

delete, and then click the Remove button.<br />

The IP address in the Trap Destinations box is removed.<br />

13 Click the Security tab.<br />
