Resolution Configuration for CP Conferences<br />

The Resolution Configuration dialog box enables the <strong>RMX</strong> administrators to override the<br />

default video resolution decision matrix, effectively creating their own decision matrix. The<br />

minimum threshold line rates at which endpoints are connected at the various video<br />

resolutions can be optimized by adjusting the resolution sliders.<br />

System resource usage is also affected by the Resolution Configuration settings. For more<br />

information see "Video Resource Usage” on page 2-4 and "Default Minimum Threshold Line<br />

Rates and Resource Usage Summary” on page 2-11.<br />

<strong>Guide</strong>lines<br />

• Resolution Slider settings affect all Continuous Presence (CP) conferences running on the<br />

<strong>RMX</strong>. Video Switched conferences are not affected.<br />

On the <strong>RMX</strong>1500 MPMx-Q assembly, the use of HD with Continuous Presence requires an<br />

additional license. In the Resource Report and Resolution Configuration panes, HD settings are<br />

displayed but are not enabled and if HD is selected the system will enable SD by default.<br />

• A system restart is not needed after changing the Resolution Slider settings.<br />

• Resolution Slider settings cannot be changed if there are ongoing conferences running on<br />

the <strong>RMX</strong>.<br />

• The displayed sliders and the resolutions change according the Card Configuration Mode:<br />

MPM, MPM+ or MPMx.<br />

From <strong>Version</strong> 7.1, MPM media cards are not supported.<br />

Accessing the Resolution Configuration Dialog Box<br />

The Resolution Configuration dialog box is accessed by clicking Setup > Resolution<br />

Configuration in the <strong>RMX</strong> Setup menu.<br />

The Resolution Configuration dialog box display changes according to the Card Configuration<br />

Mode:<br />

• MPM and MPM+<br />

• MPMx - supports H.264 High Profile<br />
