PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The Veterinary Medical Services account is responsible for the implementation of regulatory veterinary programs and disease surveillance programs. The agency establishes protective health
requirements for domestic and wild animals moving into and within the state; monitors regulatory compliance; tests specimens and animals for diseases of economic and public health
significance; and conducts animal disease surveillance for known and emerging diseases in domestic and wild animals. Statutory Authority: NRS 561, 571, 576, and NAC 441A.
BASE
This request continues funding for seven positions and associated operating costs. One-time expenditures have been eliminated and partial year costs have been annualized.
