B&I - INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS DIV - The mission of the Division of Industrial Relations (DIR) is to promote the health and safety of Nevada employees, and to
ensure that injured employees receive all benefits to which they are entitled.
Division Budget Highlights:
1. Increase Safety Inspectors Pay - Due to a significant difference in pay between private
and public safety inspectors, recruiting and retaining experienced/qualified inspectors is
difficult. The division is requesting a 10 percent increase for Safety Inspectors, with
adjustments for compaction issues in the supervisory staff.
2. Replace Industrial Relations Versa System - The division requests replacement of the
Versa System for the Mechanical Unit with the Jurisdiction Online. The Versa system is not
meeting the permit processing needs that are critical to the NV OSHA Mech Unit and to
budget for ongoing system costs.
3. Update Industrial Relations NV Med Fee Schedule - The division requests funds to
have a vendor compile data on a national basis and provide recommendations re: updating
fees and charges for medical treatment and service included in NV Med Fee Schedule.
