STATE ENERGY OFFICE - The mission of the <strong>Nevada</strong> State Office of Energy (NSOE) is to ensure that the wise development of the state's energy resources is in<br />

harmony with local community economic needs and that <strong>Nevada</strong>'s natural resources to lead the nation in renewable energy production, energy efficiency, conservation, and<br />

exportation. The office facilitates cooperation between key stakeholders; leads initiatives to stimulate economic development, job growth, attract and retain energy-related<br />

businesses in the state; develop energy-related plans and recommendations; and collaborate with our local, regional and federal partners to ensure a reliable and sustainable<br />

clean energy system. Statutory Authority NRS 701 and 701A.<br />

Division <strong>Budget</strong> Highlights:<br />

1. Reduce Energy Program - The State Energy Office budget includes significant reductions<br />

in revenues and expenditures, which are primarily the result of the closure of American<br />

Recovery and Reinvestment Act funded programs. <strong>Budget</strong> reductions include the elimination<br />

of 3.51 positions.<br />
