DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION - The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) provides a better transportation system for Nevada through unified
and dedicated efforts.
Department Budget Highlights:
1. eDiscovery and Litigation Case Management System - To increase the accuracy and
efficiency of identifying relevant electronic documents associated with a case, which will
reduce the time needed to complete this task and to collect, review, and process discovery.
Accordingly, the use of outside experts will be reduced.
2. Private Sector Sponsorship for Rest Areas - Federal regulations now permit private
sector sponsorship of rest areas. Sponsorship opportunities will provide the department with
the flexibility to pursue innovative sources of financing for maintenance and construction
activities and other highway-related services.
3. Enhance Nevada Shared Radio System Equipment - To replace obsolete equipment
at three radio sites and enhance one additional site. The system is a statewide public private
partnership shared between NDOT, the University of Nevada Las Vegas, and Nevada Energy
and is used by many state agencies for daily communication and emergency support.
