PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
During the 2007 Legislative Session, the REAL ID budget account was established for tracking expenditures related to the implementation of the REAL ID Act. Since that time, several
grants have been awarded for improving the security and integrity of data collected during the drivers license and identification card issuance process. Grant funds will be used to work
towards meeting full compliance with Department of Homeland Security (DHS) regulations, to further enhance information technologies and processes, and improve the efficiencies of the
drivers license and identification card issuance process. All grant funds awarded will assist Nevada in meeting state and federal laws, and DHS regulations.
BASE
This request continues funding for program operating costs. One-time expenditures have been eliminated and partial year costs have been annualized. Federal grants supporting this account
will end in FY 2014.
