Activity: Child Welfare - Review of Child Deaths
Child Death Review (CDR) was initiated in 2003 due to concerns about children's safety and
under-reporting of deaths. Major legislative actions and policy changes came after the Blue
Ribbon panel in 2006 to create statutory requirements for CDR activities. The 2 main goals are to
prevent child death and to inform the community when one occurs.
