NDE - SCHOOL REMEDIATION TRUST FUND
101-2615
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
NRS 385.357, passed by the 19th special session of the Nevada State Legislature, requires all public schools in Nevada to develop plans to improve the achievement of students. The plans
are to identify problem areas that need to be addressed as well as strategies to be used to help students be successful and help schools meet the Adequate Yearly Progress mandated by the No
Child Left Behind Act. Many of the strategies require funding in excess of what is now available to the schools. The funding in the School Remediation Trust Fund supports the
improvement plans each public school and each school district have developed. Due to budget reductions from 2008 through 2011, the only remaining program in the account is Full-Day
Kindergarten.
BASE
This request continues the current Full-Day Kindergarten program.
