GAMING CONTROL BOARD - The State Gaming Control Board governs Nevada's gaming industry through strict regulation of all persons, locations, practices,
associations, and related activities. The Board protects the integrity and the stability of the industry and ensures the collection of gaming taxes and fees that are an essential
source of state revenue.
Department Budget Highlights:
1. Reduce Technology Division Lab Positions - In compliance with AB 279 of the 76th
Legislative Session, independent testing labs have been approved to review gaming devices.
As a result, the Governor's Executive Budget is recommending to abolish ten positions in the
Gaming Control Board's Technology Division.
2. Upgrade Information Technology - This is a request for migration from the Board's
COBOL based system to state of the art technology and to replace computer hardware and
software.
