ADMIN - ENTERPRISE IT SERVICES - Performs information services for state agencies in a timely, coordinated, orderly, and economical manner. (See NRS<br />

242.071)<br />

Division <strong>Budget</strong> Highlights:<br />

1. New Deputy Administrator & MSA Agreement - Office of CIO receives funding for<br />

contractual project management services for the centralization of the Department of Public<br />

Safety's information technology services, and to establish a new deputy administrator position<br />

for Enterprise IT Services.<br />

2. ADVANTAGE System Replacement Study - Application Support receives funding to<br />

study and develop a recommendation for the <strong>2015</strong> Legislature for replacement of the<br />

ADVANTAGE system, which includes the state's financial, payroll and human resource<br />

systems that was purchased in 1998 and needs to be replaced.<br />

3. Migrate to Outsourced Email Provider - The Computer Facility receives funding for<br />

deployment costs and training to migrate email services to an outsourced email provider. The<br />

email provider may use a cloud-based solution, which is more economical and has increased<br />

functionality as compared to the state's current email system.<br />

4. Silvernet Capacity - Data Communications & Network Engineering receives funding to<br />

increase the capacity of Silvernet to meet the growing demand for communications<br />

infrastructure from state agencies and provide for additional bandwidth and capacity to the<br />

North to South backbone.<br />

5. Replace Core Phone System - Telecommunications receives funding to replace the<br />

state's core telephone and voice mail switches that are at capacity and two generations behind<br />

current technology. State agencies that currently operate their own systems will be able to<br />

use phone services provided by Enterprise IT Services.<br />

6. Microwave Site Maintenance - Network Transport Services receives funding to maintain<br />

microwave sites necessary to provide communication services to state agencies, including<br />

replacing vehicles needed to reach and repair remote mountain top microwave sites.<br />

7. Centralize Information Technology - The Department of Public Safety transfers<br />

funding for information technology services to Enterprise IT Services (EITS). This continues<br />

the centralization of enterprise technology services within EITS.<br />
