ADJUTANT GENERAL - The <strong>Nevada</strong> National Guard provides ready organizations and individuals to perform state and federal missions, globally and domestically.<br />

The mission of the Office of the Military is to enlist, organize, arm, equip, and train the state's militia and National Guard units to defend the Constitution and protect the<br />

lives and property of the public in times of emergency, disorder, or disaster. The federal mission of the department is to provide soldiers and airmen to respond to federal<br />

mobilization as directed by the President or Congress. The Adjutant General provides administrative oversight for the department, which consists of the Army National<br />

Guard and the Air National Guard.<br />

Department <strong>Budget</strong> Highlights:<br />

1. Improve Data and Communications Access - The Governor's <strong>Executive</strong> <strong>Budget</strong><br />

provides local area network and work station access to employees waiting for federal<br />

clearance.<br />

2. Add Administrative Support Position - The Governor's <strong>Executive</strong> <strong>Budget</strong> adds a<br />

Management Analyst position for fiscal and personnel administrative support.<br />

3. Assimilate New Carlin Readiness Center - The Governor's <strong>Executive</strong> <strong>Budget</strong> begins<br />

the facility conversion of the former Carlin Fire Sciences Academy facility to the new Carlin<br />

Readiness Center for use by the Office of the Military.<br />
