Activity: Child Welfare - Adoptions
Adoption activity provides safe and permanent homes for children whose birth parents cannot care
for them. The Adoption and Safe Families Act of 1997 requires states to make reasonable efforts
and document child specific efforts to place a child for adoption with a relative or guardian, or in
another planned permanent living arrangement.
