PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The Unclaimed Property Program, administered by the State Treasurer, reunites property owners with their unclaimed property that has been turned over to the state. The Program ensures
that businesses and government entities report and remit unclaimed property in a timely manner.
Statutory authority: NRS 120A.025 "Administrator" defined. "Administrator" means the State Treasurer in his or her capacity as the Administrator of Unclaimed Property.
NRS 120A.620 Abandoned Property Trust Account. 1. There is hereby created in the State General Fund the Abandoned Property Trust Account. 2. All money received by the Administrator
under this chapter, including the proceeds from the sale of abandoned property, must be deposited by the Administrator in the State General Fund for credit to the Account.
BASE
This request continues funding for twelve positions and associated operating costs. One-time expenditures have been eliminated and partial year costs have been annualized.
