When commenting on the saying about GE ―It is not a great of sometimes, but a
great of all times‖, he pointed out the key elements of its success: In GE, those who
are good will be given enough freedom so that he will success and be productive; GE
lays special emphasis on teamwork, because GE is like a rowboat, and everyone in
it should pull the oar in the same direction; GE also pays attention to the ability of
learning from others inside as well as outside the company; and at last it should be
born in mind that a company should keep on growing.
Cosgrove implied in the end that the kind of person suitable to work in GE should first
have intellectual curiosity and keep asking questions, and GE pays more attention to
one‘s personality growth rather than a financial degree.
