member of the Congress submits a bill on a certain issue that he is interested in
(through his constituency), and then the Senate and the House of Representatives
examine and pass this bill by proving its feasibility from various aspects. Finally, the
President will sign to pass this bill. A law has been born right after this process is
finished.
After that, Mrs. Wright analyzed the lawful framework by illustrating a few specific
laws. She also talked about the problems that might occur when executing them and
the feasibility of the laws. On talking about companies‘ strategy choices, she points
out that enterprises cannot develop well without the uniform global policies of
environment, safety and health. She said that enterprises must fully consider their
effects on the environment and make efforts to realize the balance between them.
At the end of the lecture, Mrs. Wright answered a few questions from the present
students.
Professor Mo Duowen, secretary of the Party Members Committee of College of
Environmental Sciences of Peking University, had a brief meeting with Mrs. Wright.
Secretary Mo introduced to Mrs. Wright the basic conditions of the College, and
expressed his hope to co-operate with her on aspects such as training programs,
international forums, academic meetings, subject researches, establishing
scholarships and providing opportunities for practices and communications. Mrs.
Wright as well showed her appreciation for this communication opportunity provided
by this activity, and hoped the two sides would have further co-operations.
