AIESEC Information Session Attracts

Peking University, Beijing, Sep 24th, 2004: AIESEC Information Session on Friday
night attracts many students at Peking University.
Room 117 in Guanghua Building was full of students who are interested in the
exchanging opportunities or AIESEC membership.
Being one of the largest students‘ organizations all over the world, AIESEC is in
charge of students exchanging activities and international internship. It has already
established its branch organizations in over 800 universities in 89 countries or
regions. With the purpose of improving young people‘s responsibility and leading
ability, AIESEC has provided tens of thousands of job or volunteering opportunities
for students and recent graduates in many countries.
―Working with AIESEC, abroad or inland, is not only a nice memory or experience. It
also helps me broaden my knowledge. Meanwhile, as I talked with students in
Poland, I also imparted our Chinese culture to the Polish students; I learned from
them, and they learned about China. That‘s what made me happy most.‖ said former
AIESEC member Yang Weiling, who is now a graduate student at School of
International Studies. She was transferred to Poland during her senior year.
So what is the most important qualities in an AIESEC member? ―Enthusiasm and
responsibility.‖ said AIESEC president. ―We don‘t require AIESECers to work 24
hours a day for our group. What is most important is that AIESECers be enthusiastic
and responsible. That‘s what drives AIESEC.‖ AIESECer—that‘s the special name the
AIESEC members call themselves.
This year, AIESEC will provide internship in Australia, Turkey, Denmark, India and
Holland. There is also a chance working for Electrolux in Australia. The positions are
mainly offered to students whose major is management or related. ―The
opportunities are really good. But it‘s a huge challenge.‖ said a senior. But just like
AIESEC‘s slogan--―It‘s up to you.‖
