3. Wembley Stadium, London: As a famous sports field, it was rebuilt in 2000. The
new stadium increases seating capacity by ten percent to 90,000, and makes a
massive 1,000-foot-long single arch that braces the retractable roof. It will be the icon
for the 2012 Olympic Games which will be hosted in London.
4. New Museum, New York City: The exterior, a mesh of expanded aluminum,
gleams in the sun and glows at night, and the building‘s seven-tiered, off-kilter
structure plays with the very conventions of what a building can be.
5. Kogod Courtyard, Washington, D.C.: By building a white latticed ceiling using
glass and steel, the roof becomes a delicate silk fabrics floating in the wind when
looking from far away.
6. Red Ribbon, Qinhuangdao: By using red glass fiber reinforced plastics and
together with natural green basement of the riverbanks, the 500-meter-long
architecture is just like a red ribbon snaking its way amid the undergrowth beside the
meandering river, and now it becomes a garden cum ecological oasis for the city
people.
7. Michael Lee-Chin Crystal, Toronto: It‘s the extension to Toronto‘s Royal Ontario
Museum, and can be used as entrance or exhibition field. The exterior likes
exuberantly beveled crystals.
