folk songs from diversified cultural background. The Chinese songs chosen among
the list successfully achieved several climax inside the hall. Audience can't help but
singing after the chorale when their familiar melody was played.
One more thing unusual about their performance was that during the second half
part of their performance, children changed their formal dress into casual jeans and
colorful T-shirt. Consistent to their dresses, they presented the audience with
Colorado song with genuine local flavor, including Rock & Roll and baseball cheer
songs. Ms. Deborah Desantis, artistic director of the chorale, activated the on-site
atmosphere with a passionate touch. As a result, audience, including parents and
children were all singing and interacting with singers on stage, which turned out to be
one of the most unforgettable scene ever happened in the Centennial Hall.
The Colorado Children's Chorale was founded with 50 children in 1974 by Duain
Wolfe, one conductor and a mission to create a professional children's chorus in
Colorado. The Chorale has sung countless performances with Colorado's finest
performing arts organizations, appeared with world renowned artists and performed
for numerous dignitaries, including Pope John Paul II, the Dalai Lama, Presidents,
Emperors, Chancellors, and First Ladies of the world. Television and radio
appearances have included the BBC Promenade Music Festival in London's Royal
Albert Hall, the Today Show, CBS Christmas Special with Kathie Lee Gifford and
opening ceremonies of the 1995 Olympic Festival. Ms. Desantis, current artistic
director of the chorale, was graduated from University of Colorado and specialized in
music education. Her pursuit towards artistic perfection and passion towards music
education has profoundly promoted the development of the chorale. The tours of
Colorado Chorale around the world have spread happiness and joy globally with the
purity of their voice and high quality artistic touches.
