Nobel Prize Winner Came to <strong>PKU</strong><br />

<strong>PKU</strong> <strong>News</strong>, Beijing, May 27th, 2004: The ―Nobel Prize Winner's China Campus Tour‖<br />

program set foot on <strong>Peking</strong> <strong>University</strong> this afternoon. A press conference was hold<br />

right before the program began.<br />

At the beginning, the spokesman released the basic introduction <strong>of</strong> this program.<br />

Advocated by State Administration <strong>of</strong> Foreign Experts Affairs (SAFEA) the ―Nobel<br />

Prize Winner's China Campus Tour‖ activity was programmed with the intention <strong>of</strong><br />

providing opportunities for the Chinese youths to meet with the international<br />

scientists.<br />

Cooperating with the China Communist Youth League, <strong>Peking</strong> <strong>University</strong>, and<br />

TsingHua <strong>University</strong>, the SAFEA are aiming to invite world-famous scientists to give<br />

speeches to the campus students. Listening those speeches not only would let the<br />

Chinese youths learn more about the most advanced scientific knowledge, but also<br />

cultivate their interests <strong>of</strong> scientific exploration.<br />

The spokesman said, the program was planning to give five to ten speeches every<br />
