foreign representatives announced ―Youth Declaration to Join the Low-carbon Urban
Construction‖ .
In the last part of forum, Wu Guihui, Chief Engineer of National Energy Board, gave a
speech titled "Clean Energy Development and Future Challenges." Lu Bin, Professor
of Office of Development and Planning of Peking University, delivered another
speech named "Building a Low-carbon Society and Constructing Green Campus of
Beijing‘s Universities." Both speeches disseminated knowledge of low-carbon and
insights into national environmental policies among young people.
Simcity China Youth Conference was held on the afternoon of June 5th. More than
300 students of eighteen universities, who came from more than 80 Chinese cities in
seven largest economic regions, gathered to hold the discussion about urban
low-carbon life. According to their location and economic division, the delegations
were divided into several groups and carried on the discussion. Through table
discussion, representatives made statement on the achievements and regional
cooperation programs of their cities. The best delegation of regions was selected by
voting of regional representatives and grading of judges.
In addition, concerning about Beijing and the community, the sub-forum which
focused on energy-saving potential of intellectual power system was held on the
same day.
