PKU hospital conducted a series of
activities to propagandize the
Prevention of AIDS

Peking University, Beijing, Dec 2nd, 2004: It was December 1st, the 17th AIDS Day
in the world. At PKU, promoted by the Red Cross Association on campus, a
large-scale public benefit activity, in the name of‖ fluttering red ribbons---students
from 20 universities in Beijing make joint efforts in guarding against AIDS‖, took
place simultaneously in front of the great hall in the May Fourth Square, in the
exchange center and the Sunshine Great hall as well.
The activity was participated by Lin Junjing, the vice president of PKU and chairman
of the Red Cross Association, as well as Lin Jiuxiang, who is the vice president of
PKU.
On December 1st, from the large screen in the waiting hall of PKU hospital, people
can find the flowing title‖ hold concern over women, guard against AIDS‖. Also, it had
attracted a good deal of attention when workmen at the information booth in the
medical out-patient department handed out books entitled‖ Women and AIDS‖ to the
coming sufferers.
What is more, students belonging to the Red Cross Association held a handicraft
bazaar, which were made by those who suffer from AIDS. At the same time, books
and leaflets about AIDS were distributed in the triangle corner.
Under the guidance of the leaders of the hospital, the PKU hospital also conducted a
consulting programme called ‖ you and me together join in the efforts of protection
against AIDS‖, for the purpose of raising the pubic awareness of AIDS, during which
over 5000 leaflets were issued to the public.
