<strong>Peking</strong> <strong>University</strong>, Nov. 14, 2007: Pr<strong>of</strong>essor James Morrison, the winner <strong>of</strong><br />

Economics Nobel Prize in 1996, delivered a speech on the topic ―the road to Nobel<br />

Economics Prizes‖, which attracted hundreds <strong>of</strong> students from different colleges, in<br />

the Room 203 <strong>of</strong> Guanghua Management Building from 7 pm to 9 pm on November<br />

14th. Zhang Weiying, Dean <strong>of</strong> the Guanghua Management School hosted the<br />

seminar.<br />

In the speech, Pr<strong>of</strong>essor Morrison took ten Nobel Economics Prize Winners, with<br />

whom he was familiar, as examples, such as Wassily Leontief, Milton Friedman,<br />

Gerard Debreu, Richard Stone, Franco Modigliani, Robert M. Solow, John Nash and<br />

so on, explaining that the road to Economics Nobel Prizes required a very broad<br />

range <strong>of</strong> economics, deep and intelligent knowledge <strong>of</strong> many subjects, curiosity,<br />

persistency, capability to notice and explain, confidence to do things by one‘s own<br />

way and so on.<br />

James Morrison, Pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> Economics Department in <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> Cambridge<br />

and the Department <strong>of</strong> Economics <strong>of</strong> Chinese <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> Hong Kong, won<br />

Economics Nobel Prize in 1996 for his significant contribution to information<br />

Economics, to be specific, economics motivation theory under the conditions <strong>of</strong><br />

asymmetric information which have become an important cornerstone <strong>of</strong> Modern<br />

Economics.<br />
