<strong>Peking</strong> <strong>University</strong>. May 24, 2010: On May 15th, <strong>Peking</strong> <strong>University</strong> Alumni<br />
Association <strong>of</strong> Greater New York held 2010 Annual Meeting as well as a fund-raising<br />
dinner. <strong>PKU</strong> President Zhou Qifeng attended the dinner and delivered a speech.<br />
Pr<strong>of</strong>. Li Yansong, Vice President <strong>of</strong> <strong>Peking</strong> <strong>University</strong>, Pr<strong>of</strong>. Li Xiaoming, Assistant<br />
President <strong>of</strong> <strong>Peking</strong> <strong>University</strong>, department heads <strong>of</strong> Office <strong>of</strong> International<br />
Relations, <strong>Peking</strong> <strong>University</strong> Education Foundation, and <strong>Peking</strong> <strong>University</strong> Alumni<br />
Association, were also present at the activities<br />
<strong>PKU</strong> President Zhou Qifeng highly praised <strong>PKU</strong> alumni in the United States for their<br />
great contribution to both economical and social development and the promotion <strong>of</strong><br />
Sino-US friendship. He also thanked <strong>Peking</strong> <strong>University</strong> Alumni Associations for their<br />
wholehearted work. What‘s more, <strong>PKU</strong> President Zhou Qifeng shared his studying<br />
experiences in the United States, introduced new progress <strong>of</strong> <strong>PKU</strong> in many aspects<br />
like discipline construction, research innovation, personnel training and teaching<br />
quality.<br />
In order to help the development <strong>of</strong> <strong>PKU</strong>, <strong>Peking</strong> <strong>University</strong> Alumni Association <strong>of</strong><br />
Greater New York, organized a fund-raising dinner to raise scholarships for the<br />
students <strong>of</strong> <strong>Peking</strong> <strong>University</strong>. Well-known calligrapher Pr<strong>of</strong>. Yang Xin recorded a<br />
video for the dinner specially and donated his precious works. <strong>PKU</strong> President Zhou<br />
Qifeng wrote ―Hai Na Bai Chuan(all rivers run into sea)‖, which fetched 7000 dollars<br />
at the auction session <strong>of</strong> the dinner. This dinner raised more than 80000 dollars, and<br />
all funds would be used for <strong>PKU</strong> scholarships, so as to provide better conditions for<br />
students.<br />
This annual meeting was carefully organized in five seminars. Around "business<br />
project", "bio-medicine project", "education project", "Wall Street project," and<br />
"project opportunities in China". It invited outstanding <strong>Peking</strong> <strong>University</strong> alumni and<br />
friends to make speeches in which they shared information, experiences and<br />
research results with audience. From last year, <strong>Peking</strong> <strong>University</strong> Alumni<br />
Association's Annual Meeting in New York began mainly in the form <strong>of</strong> seminars,<br />
providing a high-end platform for the alumni to communicate with each other,<br />
understand the latest situation in the United States, exchange the information about<br />
