PKU Chess and Cards Team Wins the
Champion of Asia College Student I-go
Group tournament

Peking University, Beijing, Oct 28, 2007: PKU Chess and Cards Team wins the
champion of the 12th Asia College Student I-go Group tournament, which is held in
Thailand.
Ten teams, which come from seven Asian countries, take part in the 12th Asia
College Student I-go Group tournament which is held in Khon Kaen University and
undertaken by Thailand I-go Association. From Oct 23 to Oct 28, the members of the
PKU Chess and Cards Team have done their best to compete with their strong
counterparts from Korea, Japan and other Asia countries, and won the title in the
end.
In recent years, with the concerns and supports of the school authorities, PKU Chess
and Cards Team has organized the trainings efficiently to insure the improvement of
their strength steadily. In the mean time they have participated in various
competitions inside and outside of the school actively and achieved remarkable
results. The team officials say that the outstanding results which are obtained in
chess and cards are advantageous to promote the benign development of the
competitive culture at PKU, and have enriched the thematic education activities of
―civilized life, healthy growth‖.
