Vice President: Bush Is an Old Friend
of China

The Great Hall of the People, Beijing, Nov 16th, 2005: Vice President Richard Ewing
from Texas A&M University introduced Mr. Bush at the opening of the Beijing Forum
before the former U.S. President addressed the audience.
Prof. Ewing spoke highly of President Bush‘s contribution to a fine Sino-U.S. relation
when he was heading the Liaison Office to Beijing in 1975.
―Mr. Bush is a respected U.S. President in China. He is an old friend of the Chinese
people.‖ Mr. Ewing said.
―He was the President of the U.S. when the world was enduring dramatic changes:
the ending of the cold war, the collapse the Soviet Union, the fall of the Bolin Wall
and the changes in the Eastern Europe.‖ Prof. Ewing said.
―We are proud because we have the Bush Library in TAMU and we have been
carrying on the fine tradition of serving the public as exemplified by President Bush.‖
