РЕЗЮМЕ
The Book “My Family History” is based on an
interdisciplinary genological study “The reflections of
the Meller (Moeller) family in Baltic German culture and
history. Latvia-East Prussia”, which looks at the history of
the family of the Moeller family from 1490 to the present,
providing insight into the fate and stories of 17 generations
of this family. Along with the direct study of the Meller
family, insight is also given to the history of families that
interacted with the Moeller family.
First in East Prussia, then in imperial Russia and Latvia,
the Moellers family has played an important role in their
cultural history, politics and economics – they were
pastors, teachers, university rectors, doctors, nobles,
industrialists, tradesmen, cattlemen, burghers, lawyers,
judges, parliamentarians of various levels, leaders of
political parties, and people associated with the arts.
Interesting information in the discourse of history is also
provided by the godparents of the family - among wich
are such personalities as the Prussian Kings Friedrich I
and Friedrich Wilhelm IV Hoencollern. Considering
that at least two books have been published by the Meller
family so far (“Beitrag zur Geneologie des Geschlechts
Moeller aus Konigsberg / Pr” by Friedwald Louis Meller in
Prussia, 1932; and the continuation of the same book by
Walter Hanss August Meller published in West Germany,
1967), the purpose of this book is to identify the changes
in the family tree since 1967, as well as to provide more
detailed and in-depth information on the Meller family of
Kurzeme, Latvia.
This study, developed by Juris Millers, contains not only
the missing information on the time since 1967, but also,
with the use of modern technologies and databases, each
person mentioned in the previous studies was reexamined,
collecting any and all additional information. Thus, it was
possible to find new, previously unknown family branches
and their descendants. For several years, looking at the
contemporary representatives of each family’s branch,
photographic material has also been compiled to give
an insight into their everyday life. This was only possible
thanks to a number of geneology enthusiasts whose
gathered information has been systematised, verified and
compiled in this book. This also includes a number of new
family branches that have not beenpreviously addressed.
As a result of the geopolitical changes brought about by
the 20th century, most of the documents and geographic
locations included in both of the two previous studies
have been destroyed, and the documentation of these
facts is of particular importance for future generations.
Most of the research consists of the researcher’s father
- the representatives of the Moeller families Kurzeme
branch, where relatives with many socially important,
mainly Baltic families were found, such as von Witte,
Luth, Kroepsh, von Schoen, von Pantzer, Kuphaldt, Agte,
von Knigge, Haensell and others. This also combined into
the Moeller’s family geneological tree various well-known
personalities of their time, such as Baumann Karlis,
Immanuel Kant, Mikhail Lermontov and Sergei von Witte.
A separate study is also devoted to the author’s mother’s
branch, the Miller family, research that had not previously
been done. The Miller family id primarily dominated
by Latvian farming and agricultural families, such as
the Kulbari, Dobeļi, Bāliņi, Pūcīši, Vītoli, Freibergi and
Baumaņi. A relation to Baltic German families was also
uncovered, including that of Nicholas Rerichs.
The author of this study is the journalist and producer Dr.
philol. Juris Miller, who devoted the time between 2014
and 2019 to the devvelopment of the study. Millers not
only exsamined the two previously published studies, but
he also worked with the state archives of Latvia, Russia,
Georgia, Germany, Sweden and other countries, looking
for, and finding anscestors descendants all continents of
the world. There were also several field expeditions to
try and uncover unknown information about families
history. The results of this research have been presented
at several international scientific conferences as well as in
scientific and popular publications. This study is designed
as relevant and pertinent reading for both the Moeller
family and any onther interested people.It can also serve
as an encyclopedic reference book regarding the people
mentioned therein.

“Oтражение семьи Меллер (Мёллер) в культуре и
истории Балтии, Германии, Латвии и Восточной
Пруссии”, которая раскрывает судьбу семнадцати
поколений династии Меллер, начиная с 1490 года по
настоящее время.
В генеалогическом исследовании освещены
интересные исторические моменты, связанные с
семьей Меллер, представители которой проявили
себя во всех слоях европейского общества, - будь
то культура или духовенство, политика или бизнес.
Интересной деталью в историческом дискурсе
стали ремарки автора о влиятельных покровителях
Меллеров, которые были крестными отцами
Меллеров - прусских королях Фридрихе I и Фридрихе
Вильгельме IV Хенцоллерне.
В двадцатом веке о династии Меллер было издано
две научно-популярных книги (первая из них -
в 1932 году “Beitrag zur Geneologie des Geschlechts
Moeller aus Konigsberg / Pr”), поэтому в данной работе
автор ставит своей задачей выявление изменений
в обширном генеалогическом древе Меллеров, а
также подробно описывает их Курземскую ветвь.
Исследование, проведённое Юрисом Миллерсом,
содержит не только недостающую информацию об
историческом периоде, начиная с 1967 года, но и
позволяет дополнить базу данных Семьи, обозначив
доселе неизвестные исторические параллели.
Так, в ходе изучения родословной Юриса Миллерса
по линии отца, были выявлены родственные связи
Меллеров со многими социально значимыми
семействами прошлого (фон Витте, Лут, Кроэпш,
фон Шоен, фон Панцер, Куфальд, Агте, фон Книгге,
Хэнсель и т. д.). Данный факт позволяет существенно
расширить границы генологии Меллеров, включив
в нее семьи Баумана Карлиса, Эммануила Канта,
Михаила Лермонтова, Сергея фон Витте и других
выдающихся исторических личностей.
Часть научной работы посвящена родословной
матери автора, изучение которой до сих пор не
проводилось. Здесь преобладают знаменитые
латыши: Кульбари, Добели, Балини, Пуциши, Витоли,
Фрейберги и Баумани, а также балтийские немцы, в
том числе Николай Рерих.
Журналист Юрис Миллерс трудился над книгой
с 2014 по 2019 год, совмещая работу в архивах с
иследователскими командировками по Европе.
Результаты его исследования были представлены
на нескольких международных конференциях и в
многочисленных публикациях.

Книга «История моей семьи» будет интересна не
только потомкам семейства Меллер, но и всем
читателям, которые интересуются развитием
европейской цивилизации в рамках жизнеописания
конкретной династии.
Результаты исследования были представлены на
нескольких международных научных конференциях,
а также в научных и популярных публикациях.
Это исследование предназначено как обязательное
чтение как для семьи Меллер, так и для всех,
кто заинтересован, но оно также может служить
энциклопедическим справочником для упомянутых
там людей.
