The most important aspect of the conea team is the very low attrition
rate. Some of our senior employees have been with the organisation
for more than 14 years. The other senior employees have been with the
organisation for a minimum of six years. This is basically due to the excellent
opportunities we provide to our staff in career development and
also because of the niche in which we are operating.
3. Process:
Consistency in offering high quality services is essential and this can be
achieved only by well defined processes. We have defined standardised
methods for handling projects of different kinds. The steps in project
execution are mapped to the process flow at the machinery manufacturer
to ensure timely completion of documentation projects.
4. Tools:
We use the following tools: PLM Publisher (CMS tool), Structured
FrameMaker for authoring, Adobe illustrator and 3D via composer for
illustration.
Communication tools like; Skype, screen sharing software and video
conference further helps us to bridge the gap between SME and the
documentation team.
The choice of tool was made based on the requirement analysis mentioned
above.
5. Standards
The focus on compliance to the machine directive 2006/42/EC, EN
82079, ANSI Z535.6, and also to company style guide is an essential part
for ensuring repeatable delivery of high quality content.
6. The focus on content
We organise regular sessions for the writers and the SME on the importance
of improving the content in the manuals. This has increased the
awareness concerning the importance of content among both the writers
and the SME.
