SYMPOSIUM 10 Perinatality. Prevention and treatment
In the areas of transition to parenthood and
perinatal psychology, the antenatal period has
received much less attention until now, compared
to the postnatal one, while it is undoubted
that attention given to couples since the beginning
of pregnancy is central in promoting their
future parental functioning.
Evaluation of mood and possible risk factors
and clinical work on parental representations
amplify the opportunities to catch emotional
nuances and individual and cultural differences,
which define every birth project in its uniqueness,
and to support mothers.
Considering this, and taking the most recent
studies in international literature as a startingpoint,
the proposed symposium represents an
opportunity to compare different researches
and clinical experiences on preventive-intervention
in perinatality. The symposium is proposed
to promote the discussion and the identification
of elements of strength and weakness, in order
to give suggestions and proposals on potential
future intervention line.

The symposium includes five main speakers:

Nanzer.
Creti’s contribution (Cresti, L., Lapi, I., Pratesi,
C., Mori, L.) presents brief observation flashes
about “inner maternity” to support the pregnancy
work,
Qayoom Boulvain’s work (Qayoom Boulvain,
Z., Le Scouëzec, I., Palacio-Espasa, F., Ansermet,
F., Boulvain, M.) underlines the effectiveness
of a brief psychotherapeutic intervention to
decrease the risk of preterm delivery,
Agostini’s speech (Agostini, F., Monti, F., Dallacasa,
P., Liverani, A., Hamon, C., Bertozzi, N.)
regards the antenatal and early postpartum
period, putting special attention on the detection
of antenatal and anxiety disorders,
Reitano’s contribution (Reitano, F., Donati, L.,
Busetti, T., Carmellini, T.) underlines preventive
path and diagnostic tools to reduce or minimize
the risk of perinatal depression ,
