The Post Office London directory for 1805 by B. Critchett. [1804] (6th
edn). This edn first includes the London papers with days of
issue; from the 15th edn 1814 onwards it contains the country
papers as well. Annually to 1839.
Holden’s triennial directory for 1805, 1806, 1807. [1805] (4th edn).
Contains a list of London and country newspapers: this did not
appear in the earlier edns, nor is it in the 10th edn for 1817, 1818,
1819, which was the first issued by Underhill after Holden’s death.
Pigot and Co’s London and provincial new commercial directory for
1822–3. [1822.] 2nd edn for 1823–4; 3rd edn for 1827–8; 6th edn for
1836–7; 7th edn Dec 1839.
Robson’s London commercial directory for 1823. Also for 1839, 1840,
1843 (24th edn); the first edn for 1819 has no list. The lists in the
later edns seem to have been supplied by Newton and Co,
Warwick Square, Newgate St.
W. Kelly and Co. The Post Office London directory for 1840. 1839
onwards. The issues for the years from 1840–7 have opposite each
paper the number of stamps issued to it for the second quarter of
the preceding year; for the years 1842–7 they have the amount of
