variorum edn vol 1 below). <strong>The</strong> bulk <strong>of</strong> C.G. R.’s ms poems are contained in 17<br />

small notebooks: 9 in Bodleian (1845–56), 7 in BL (1842–5, 1856–66) and 1 in<br />

family collection (1859–60). Other holograph notebooks are located in BL<br />

(Sing-song and Il rosseggiar dell’ oriente), Huntington (Maude: prose<br />

and verse), Texas Univ (A pageant and other poems), and King’s<br />

College, Canterbury (Verses). All these collections contain lesser groups <strong>of</strong><br />

mss, as do the univ libs <strong>of</strong> Brown, Duke, Harvard, Princeton (open, Troxell<br />

and Taylor collections), British Columbia, Kansas, and Yale, the Berg<br />

Collection (NYPL), the Iowa State Dept <strong>of</strong> History and Archives, the History<br />

Soc <strong>of</strong> Pennsylvania, and a few private collections. <strong>The</strong> largest collection <strong>of</strong><br />

C.G. R.’s family letters is in the Angeli-Dennis Papers at the Univ <strong>of</strong> British<br />

Christina Rossetti’s fugitive writings appeared in a wide range <strong>of</strong> jnls and<br />

anthologies, which form a vital part <strong>of</strong> her publishing history. Because most <strong>of</strong><br />

the poems, some <strong>of</strong> which were embedded in Commonplace and other prose<br />

works, were rptd during her lifetime and all are included in Crump’s variorum<br />

edn (above), only single and double titles or total number are cited;<br />

unrptd prose materials, however, are identified. <strong>The</strong> list is compiled from<br />
