E. Nesbit was a prolific contributor to periodicals <strong>of</strong> all descriptions. Her first<br />

contribution was a ‘set <strong>of</strong> verses with a moral tag’ in <strong>The</strong> Sunday Mag in<br />

1874 (not yet precisely identified). <strong>The</strong> 1st positively identified contribution<br />

was a set <strong>of</strong> verses ‘A year ago’ in Good Words Dec 1876. <strong>The</strong> following lists the<br />

more important <strong>of</strong> the rest <strong>of</strong> her huge output:
